I don't mind timber cutting during the season. We've seen deer move in to a cut area in the afternoon after the cutting gang leaves. They seem to be going for the buds and tender ends of limbs left on the ground. I once saw a spike walk between a cutter and a skidder that were parked about ten yards apart in the cutting area when the crew left for the day.

Hey Semi, that wouldn't be so bad but these guys broke for lunch and went back to work. They were at it all day. It definitely broke the rhythm of the deer patterns up badly. I did notice that the further you got from the timber action the more deer that were taken. Luckily wee have a large continuous piece of proertt and plenty of stands (over 130!).
