Just found this site predicated on a friend giving me a 50 cal Markesbery 24 inch, SS barrel and laminated stock. He says he didn't use it much but recommended a 50 (777) grain load for the 295 Powerbelt projectile. I know I've got a basket full of accesories to pick up but, was wondering if there might be a few hints on what to buy. Anyone ever heard of the Markesbery BP?

Welcome to the forum Pacsd. You'll get all the info you need here. Did you get any thing at all along with the gun, or just the gun?
I have to admit the Markesbery is a new one on me. GOOGLED "markesbery muzzleloaders" and found a bit of info about them (well made with Green Mountain barrels - 1:26" twist seems to be the norm).
But I couldn't find a picture of one. I'd really like to see some pictures, especially some close-ups of the breech area.
