Well the pencil trick and regular old oil seemed to take care of most of it. I let it dry and will see how things look after I get off work.

As to how its been shooting. I couldn't have asked for better. I took it to the range a few weekends ago and tinkered around with round balls to get use to the whole blackpowder shooting regimen. Once I got my process down I began sighting the gun in. At 25 yrds I tried some different powder/bullet combos and came up with a winner.

Here is a shot at 25 yards with a Hornady XTP with 70 grains of powder.

After this shot it was about time to go because dinner was waiting. I went over to the 100 yard part of the range and tried one shot at the metal target setup at 100 yards. I carefully took aim at the target and heard a nice gong on the target.

When I have time to get back at the range I will practice some more. I can't wait to take this gun deer hunting though.

I did pick up an Olive green Rothco bag like the one linked below at a Army Surplus store. I think it will be good enough to store some accessories while hunting. (http://www.amazon.com/Rothco-Black-2...glink121568-20)
