Good news! My son is in his last few weeks of deployment in Afghanistan. They will return in approximately 2-3 weeks to his base in El Paso TX and then in Feb he'll report to Ft Campbell with the 101st Airborne in Clarksville TN. He'll only be 6 hours from home then. Momma and I are pretty excited!

Man, that's fine sjsfire. You, your wife, and your son can compare grins. I wouldn't want to be the judge. But extra points are awarded for a grin mixed with tears of joy.

(Love that picture.)

When he gets to Clarksville TN he will only be 1.5 hours from where we deer hunt. He'll be closer than I will be. He doesn't report until the first part of Feburary so not his fall but we will be getting him a permit for 2014! Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I was so relieved when my nephew got out of that slimehole of a country. I bet having a son come home safe and sound would put you floating on air till you see him walk thru that door..Tell your son thanks from the folks in NC.

A few of my colleagues are gearing up for their deployment in September to Afghanistan. My wife was there as well.

I appreciate your son's service to your country and all servicemen and women who put their lives on the line for God and Country!
