He broke it, he should replace it.

Never judge a person by one mistake. He just had a bad day is all. He has done lots of work for me and has done excellent work. In fact the way he did mount the sight after the error was beautiful and I would have preferred it that way (2 machine screws vs. 1 machine screw and 1 wood screw.) He had no way of knowing the sight would not adjust low enough in that position.

I'm sorry, but he should know that. Before drilling more holes. He should have checked if the sight lined up.

I know my gunsmith wouldn't make a simple mistake like that.

It's your guns and money. Your choice.

He couldn't - he didn't have the barrel, or the stock. Just the tang and the sight. I trust this guy and have for years. You won't find a better smith to do trigger, bedding and blueing work - period. You're too quick to judge.
