Nice work David.

Enjoy the Omega. It's a great system. FYI.. My Omega likes 100 grains of T7 or BH 209 and a 300 Grain bullet. I use the Harvester Crushed Rib Sabots because of a tight bore.

They have a reputation for tight bores which is fine. You just can't use the same combo as some other rifles.

Thanks, josmund! This is my second omega. The first is a stainless t-hole which got a few passes of JB this evening. My preferred load is 100gr BH and a 300 grain xtp or PT Gold in a black crush rib sabot.

I actually need to experiment with red crush ribs in the stainless as the bore is quite a bit larger and the black load extremely easy. Even more so now that it is polished.

Anyone else using red crush ribs in an Omega? Other sabot suggestions?

Either of the Harvester Smooth sabot will provide a tighter fit. The long one for 300g+ bullet may make you a better shot. The short black sabot will be tighter than the crush rib. Which ever you can find will probably work good.

I had tried the reds in my stainless a few months ago. First sabot would load ok, next would be very tough to get down barrel, even shooting bh209. After polishing the bore, a PT Gold 300 in a red sabot seems to load much easier than I remember. Maybe I'll order 50 and ask harvester to send me some samples of the smooth sabots in case the red crush rib are again difficult after the first shot.
