Could it be the brushes on the pump motor are wearing, and that is what causes the smell?

(I see you're drinking again Ron. That pump motor you're seeing in this thread is an hallucination. It's not real. TC rifles do not have a pump motor like the CVA guns. :D ) |

Fortunately I know otherwise. |

Whatever. And I suppose next you're going to tell me I don't have to re-pack the breech plug bearings every 100 shots?
Fortunately I know otherwise. Are you using standard bearing grease SuperKirby? Try white Lithium grease. You can go twice that many shots with no problem. I probably should put a "how to" post on this in the Reference Forum. |

Smoking that "funny" tobacco too?

Wow - talk about good CS. When I went into work this morning I had a voice message from Pecatonica River Long Rifle Supply. He had called me back later that day telling me his boss had a .58 that he was taking to a shoot to sell. He told me if I wanted it to call him back. Well it will be in the mail tomorrow. In the mean time I am going to look for a used Rene at a decent price and just sell the Hawken. After thinking it over it would be a shame to separate the stock and barrel from a rifle that is no longer made and is still unfired. Going to head to the gun shop tonight and look for a Rene.
