Default Patched Round Balls From a Black Diamond

Fired my TC Black Diamond today. It's the older gun with the short barrel. Wanted to sight the gun for patched round balls for hog hunting.

Distance: 50 yards
Gun: TC Black Diamond
Scope: Minox ZA 3
Powder: 80 grains of Grafs 2F Black powder
Ball: .490 Hornady
Patch: Prelubed commercial
Primer: Musket

Shot three rounds and made my scope adjustments. This is the left hand target. Swabbed the bore and fired three more rounds. First two holes touched. The third shot was low to the right: Called this shot.

Methinks i could make this gun shoot round ball pretty good by swabbing after each shot.

i wanna killa hog with patched round ball and this gun.

Shouldn't have any trouble from the looks of the first 2. even that thrown shot would hurt it bad.

I have shot the .490 ball out of my Black Diamond XR with 70 grains of powder. And when I swabbed between shots, my scoped rifle shot very tight groups out to 50 yards. That is some good shooting there.

Grafs blackpower is very consistent. i've used Grafs with several other bullets and it makes nice small groups when the bore is swabbed after every shot. It seems to leave more crud than the Du Pont powder i used many years ago.

I have been shooting Graf's for a long time, but recently went to Schuetzen powder. I think they are the same powder.
