Brown Bess
Hey guys, I have recently got my hands on a pedersoli Brown Bess 75 Cal. The gun is in fair shape. Any idea what something like this would be worth? I don't really have a need for a flint lock rifle. Also have a CVA 12 ga double barrel that's black powder.

Well condition is everything EFH. Those muskets are pretty pricey new, something around $800/$900. I really don't know what used ones are selling for. We don't see them here very often. But I suspect a used one in "fair" shape would go for around $400 - less if there's any pitting in the bore.
I think your best bet for getting an idea of it's value would be to google the North-South Skirmish Association and see if any are listed for sale on their bulletin board.

Being a Pedersolli that is a fine musket. 75 caliber... that is a big hole. There are written reports where in the Revolutionary war, as the soldiers stood in formation, the ball from a Bess would penetrate up to three people. Two was very common. Just a lot of horse power there. I have heard they make a somewhat good shotgun too. As for the value.. like Semisane said.. $900.00 new so used would be at least 50% of that or more. Depending on condition.
