Knight 209 primer conversion kit

I am wondering about this Knight 209 conversion kit. Would I want to use it over a #11 primer on a MK85?

FYI, the kit pictured is SS. The kit I actually have is #900610, blue.

I can't think of one good reason to do that.

I'm not even sure what that is. ? What the heck are those brass things?
The 209 conversion I have for my mk's is a 209 plunger, and a 209 breechplug (that accepts the red disc w/209).

Depends on who you talk to whether they prefer #11's or 209's. I know the BH users prefer the 209 conversion.

I prefer the #11.

I personally wouldn't shoot Blackhorn in a plunger gun , but that's just me .

I'm staying with the #11 caps to keep the crud ring down.

I've read using BH 209 in plunger guns is not a great idea. No?

The gun is not meant to shoot BlackHorn 209 powder. And unless you intend to shoot pellets, I would suggest you stick with the #11 caps. Now I understand why each have their reasons for wanting to change. But in my three LK rifles, there is no way you could make me go to a 209 ignition.

Neither am I. Here is a pic of the directions on the back of the well wore packaging. Perhaps a early Knight 209 conversion?

The kit does not include another BP, uses a Red Hot nipple (per the directions), and the hammer has a raised hammer face.

Good morning All,

IMHO, It is should be very obvious that the shown item is not a 209 conversion!!!!!!!!!

That is a conversion to use large rifle Primers, they are not considered 209s by any stretch of the imagination.

IMHO, I would personally not use any thing but #11s on a plunger gun.

Thanks Screwbolts. That clears it up. The kit came to me as advertized as a 209 conversion kit. Thus my wonderment.
