Default 45 cal Cherokee

A friend had one in his closet for years. He's not much on muzzleloaders and wanted to get rid of it. I decided I better give it a good home . No pics at the moment but will take some soon

On another note, check out the link for a beautiful collaboration
Between Lyman and Pedersoli . This may have to go on my wish list .
It comes out this summer

That new Lyman/Pedersoli is a nice looking repro but I would rather have that Cherokee so far as actually using it. The allure of the .45-70 has always escaped me.

Doesn't matter, I couldn't hit anything without a scope and it would be a travesty to scope either of them.

Nice! Can't wait to see the pics. I don't typically fall into those type of deals, very rare.

That sharps is pretty sweet. I see the msrp, wonder what they'll actually sell for. My dad has a Shiloh .45-70 that he custom ordered direct from them about 20yrs ago. That thing is sweet!!!! Its a tack driver too. .45-70's shoot really well, he has about 4 or 5 of em. I'll have to send him this link. Pretty cool gun.

I have always liked the Sharps rifle, but never was willing to spend that kind of money for one. But they do appeal to me. About ten years ago, I got a chance to shoot a repro Sharps, firing black powder cartridge loads. It was amazing how accurate that thing was. I can see why they could shoot Bison at 300 yards of further.

I'm hoping to go on a Buffalo hunt this coming year . I've thought about using my Sharps if I go but keep coming back to wanting to use a 54 GPH , 58 Rene , White ESR , or a 52 knight . Decisions aren't easy I've been loading 45-70 cartridges with Blackhorn and actually seem to get better results . Then again not much difference between Blackhorn and some smokeless powders for a 45-70 . The only reason I like the Lyman Sharps in the link is because I'm partial to Lyman and Pedersoli in sidelocks so it's a winning combo for me to see them team up on a Sharps .

Me too. The retail will probably be around 1500 but that's still a mighty big chunk of change . I know they list the GPR at around 700 now but it's only 478 at midsouth , so I know it won't be 2 grand.
