Please forgive me if i offend, but, after reading the tale, it almost seems the dragon is handicapped by his pardner.

Congratulations on the buck. A small buck like that is good eating. And its nice to know the rifle holds true and can make a shot like that. Now you need to get a couple hogs and fill the freezer.

Shot through the heart and still ran 100 yards. Wow them deer are tough. Did you get a complete pass through? I would guess you did. And how was the blood trail? That 300 grain XTP is the bullet I was looking at to do my hunting for me.

Did you leave the rifle loaded this entire time or did you empty and then load it? I was wondering because that would be quite the testament to craftsmanship if you left that loaded and it still fired off perfect, weeks later.
