Default Flame Thrower or Hot Shot Nipple for T/C Hawken?

Buddy of mine is trying to get his T/C Hawken ready for this season, looks like his original nipple needs replacement. Which one would be best for him. He is currently using T7 pellets (I know, I'm trying to get him to use loose).

So should he get the Hot Shot, the Flame Thrower, or the regular nipple?

Thanks in advance.

Edit - realized that the Flamethrower nipple is for the older inlines so can't be used on a caplock. Question remains, Hot Shot or regular nipple with T7 pellets in a Hawken?

Pellets are designed for inlines and increase your chances of a misfire in a side lock.

The hot shot nipple would be the right choice. But he should be shooting loose powder. If he is having ignition problems, that would be the reason.

Thanks for the replies. He's got one more chance at the range before the season and I think I've got him willing to try some loose powder.

I switched over all my sidelocks to musket cap nipples. They give more flame and are much easier to handle while in the woods.

My experience was the opposite. Just for curiosity I put a musket nipple on my Renegade and got hangfires and misfires. The musket caps were going off just fine, nice and loud. Switched back to the original nipple/caps and never had another issue. The musket nipple looked fine, so I don't know why it happened.
