Thumbs up

Thanks Dave. I'm going to take the plunge and invest a few bucks in a casting pot and mold. It just sounds like a new challenge and some good (not so clean) fun!

I have never shot patched round balls before and only got interested in BP hunting so that I could hunt during the rut here in Va. But after getting on this site and reading many of you alls different posts on this subject I must admit that this aspect of the sport of muzzleloading is quite interesting. Many of you all have this sport down to a science. I am learning alot from your posts and just wanted to say it is appreciated. I can see myself getting into traditional blackpowder shooting in the future. In the meantime I will continue to read all you alls posts on this subject. Sorry if I hijacked this thread!!

Not hijacked at all... If you ever get a traditional, consider a flintlock. While a little more temperamental then a cap lock, the smoke, fire and rewards are just wonderful. When I shoot that black powder and the entire yard fills with smoke.. it just makes me smile to no end.

I love going to bed at night with the smell of real black powder in my hair.

No shower jokes wise guys. I like the smell.

I used to like that also - when I had hair.

Thanks Cayugad! A flint lock it will be. I will keep reading you alls posts to keep up with the technical aspect of that sport. I love how you all experiment with different things like spit swabbing and olive oil lube! Keep up the great threads.......
