Do you guys use the original packaging placed in Ziploc or store in Lanes tubes. Moisture is my main concern.

Are you talking about 209 primers, or caps?

209 primers are sealed.

What do you mean, "for travel?" Like riding around in your car to the range? Or do you mean while hunting?

i have a couple of those all in one setups, holds your bullet, powder and primer. I carry them in one of those buttstock holders on my rifle

Just doing the last of my packing for my caribou hunt. I mean for an extended trip is it better to leave the primers in there original packaging or should store them in a powder tube.

I use a dog-bone style caper/holder when I'm out for the day hunting.

I just leave them in the original container and make sure to scotch tape the sides so it will not open up. I had primers riding in the back of my old truck for weeks on end that never opened up during hunting season.

You wanna make sure your primers are sealed and away from any moisture. We did some good testing on this a few years ago and we found the primers left out did not perform like the ones protected. I found the best thing to use was Lanes small tubes for 209 primers. The small tubes were actually used for smokeless powder. If your short on cash the prescription bottles work fine just a little bulky in my opinion.

If you're concerned about moisture getting to the primers I would keep them in the original package, taped so they don't open and put them in a ziplock bag with a dessicant to absorb any moisture inside the bag or make your own. http://www.ehow.com/way_5311385_home...ant-packs.html
