Default tc sidelocks is there a way to tell what year

i seen a scope base for a new englander on the(e bay) and it says 1991 or later I've seen you guys talk about early 4 numbered guns.....if i look at the barrel will i be able to tell the year? i got 3 new englanders and a extra barrel two are shotguns, ones a 50 cal pitted i'm hopeing to the base will fit on this one, the other barrel a 50 too but the bore like new but the gun sat on a wall and the blueing discolored my plans are to get it dipped in winter camo(all the medal parts and have the walnut stock) thanks for any info

I know Remington can give you the year it was built by the serial number. Not sure if TC can, but i'd call them to see.

There was something to do with the older models not having a screw on the barrel just next to the tang. That hole is were their off set base mount attached. The old ones did not have that. The new ones did. But as for what year, other then the serial number which T/C might be able to identify for you, I really don't know. Its not like CVA that puts their year in the serial number.
