I never had any luck with the Harvester 50x40 CR but the MMP 50x40 is likely too tight for an Accura. They are extremely tight in a true .500 bore.

Lets get Ron straight CVA's are not junk. They are just a step below T/C.... Now about the bullets. How many of us have ever used a Blood Line and harvested an animal? They shot very good from My Encore 45 the .45/200 but for some reason I have not ever loaded one while hunting. Just prefer SST's

I need to go back to sleep. I was thinking 250 gr lehigh .452 but said blue crush rib sabot because I have been shooting my 1:20 45 lately with that sabot and a 230 gr bullet.
I use standard black sabot in my 50 for 250 gr lehigh.

I tried them last year for hunting. 1 antelope 6 deer. I plan on trying them at long range this year. I never had a tracking job with them so I guess the performance was good. It's just hard for me to get away from my Barnes and to get used to the idea of a segmenting bulleting versus expanding bullet.

If i wanted to use the .452 Lehigh 250gr in a bore that is very close to .500 but not smaller, i would try 3 sabots. I would try the MMP HPH-24, Harvester Short Black and the Harvester Black Crush Rib. I like 458s but in a tight bore the MMP Orange at .506 is very tight.

My guess is the Harvester Short Black should work very well but be a little on the tight side. My ULA 50cal has a real .500 bore and the HSB work very well with a .452 bullet. Ive heard the Accura 50s are very close to .500 also.

I have used them and have harvested with them.. they work great. I had to make the switch because Nosler decided to quit making the partition in the bullets I was using.

Never have found a good reason to use a pointy bullet in a ML, in fact even in my 300 Win Mag I use a semi-round nose partition vs. a pointy bullets.

I was thinking the same thing about the bore of the Accura but have no first hand information.

The bore of my Accura seem to be kinda in between the 50 disc extreme, and the mountaineer. The sabot used are either the short Harvester or the long Harvester. This is when shooting 0.451, or 0.452 bullet. The disc Extreme seems to be the largest barrel; the Mountaineer is about the same as the Omega.

I use the same sabot in the Disc Extreme as in the Accura.

I owned that rifle well over 30 years ago.
I think one bad experience is enough. If you hit your thumb with a hammer do you do it again? Do you actively search out a situation to hit your thumb again? DO you pay to hit your thumb with a hammer?
CVA had their chance at a first chance. The one I had was junk, no need to go back.

The inline rifles from CVA might be a different deal all together. I won't argue that at all. Here is the deal breaker in Idaho for me. On a ML only hunt a #11 cap or musket cap must be exposed to the weather. At one point our rules even disallowed a conical for a time. So here in Idaho there is no need for someone to buy a inline that will not comply with Idaho rules if he wants to hunt a ML only hunt. The make of that rifle does not matter it could be CVA, TC, or Knight. Now a guy could use an inline that does not comply with Idaho ML rules. He would have to use that rifle in an any weapon hunt. I know some guys that do that. If I wanted to use a ML on an any weapon hunt I would use the same Idaho legal rifle I already hunt with.
