Power went out Monday night around 9:00 p.m. So many power pole transformers and fuses were popping it sounded like the area was being shelled. Tuesday morning I hooked up a generator large enough to run the fridge, freezer, a lamp or two, and a small window AC. Got the power back on my street Wednesday afternoon. Two of my neighbors on a cross street to mine are still without power. One is using my generator and we ran a heavy duty extension cord from my house to the other's house.

Glad to hear you're ok. Have not yet got in touch with my mom in Kenner. Power outage is pretty standard and she is cellular phone challenged.

My Uncle lived in Covington when Kat rolled through. The water stopped about a 100 yds from his front door.
Glad to hear the Scotch held out!!!:party0005: HA |
Latest bulletin from Entergy: Power has been restored to slightly over 100,000 homes. Still over 700.000 homes in LA without power. Some may not have power for another 7-10 days. Sure glad I'm not one of those.

That would be pretty hard for 10 days. Poor people.

It's a whole different world when the juice goes out.
The Ice Storm of '98 in January had power out for weeks in some places. Keeping cool wasn't a problem. Trying to stay warm was. I always have 100 gal of gas and the genny's at the ready in the winter. 0 degrees and no hydro sucks big time. I suppose 95' and no hydro sucks equally but you won't freeze to death. HA |
Glad your made it through ok. When hugo came through Charlotte back in 89 I went outside and was amazed at the fireworks from transformers blowing up across Charlotte. They filled the sky with a green/orange glow, eeriest thing I have ever seen. And they were pretty loud blowing up too. I would of thought technology would of come further along to keep em from blowing up these days. Be careful cause it seems like this is when the injuries really rack up is cleaning up after the storm. take care

I never had any doubts about Semi's survival. I do however question his technique. It appears that he existed on scotch for the most part. This resulted in the effects of the hurricane not being as bad as they would have been. And the women were also pleased with his lack of involvement.
In any event - it is nice to see him back on here. |
Glad you made it through semi. Were finally getting some much needed rain from it now.
