Nice shooting Ron. Looking at that target makes me think I should shoot the ramrod out of some of my rifles.

You know Ron, it wouldn't hurt to call TC and ask to speak to one of their technicians (not a customer service clerk) and explain the situation. You never know, they might have a barrel sitting around and would be willing to switch your action to a new barrel.

Also, you could ask about the safety issue. But given the liability issue, I would expect them to tell you not to shoot it. As for me, I would not be concerned. I believe there are a LOT of guns out there with slightly bulged barrels being shot all the time with the owner not even realizing the barrel has been bulged.

I won't call anybody.

Semi,
Ya know I hate to admit it but I shot half of my ramrod out of my TC Encore . I called TC's service and asked them to ship me a new barrel and I would pay the shipping and the price for the barrel. I explained the complete story and in no way was I looking for a replacement barrel; however, after going through the process of me ruining a perfectly good barrel, they just said for me to ship them my old barrel and they would replace the barrel. I had shot the barrel after the incident and it wasn't damaged that caused an accuracy issue, so I told TC that I didn't beleive it to be fair to them . So, I boxed up the barrel and shipped it back to TC and a few days later I received a package from UPS. I recieved a new barrel that was fluted and had the speed breach XT. My barrel was the old Encore barrel. The next day I recieved another package by the little brown truck. It was the original barrel with a note explaining that I may want to keep the barrel to remind me of the hunts and the incident. I have never had an issue ever with TC's service. I was going to have the old barrel bored out and sleeved and I still may later, but for now I will just sit and count my blessings and enjoy my new barrel.

Sorry to hijack the thread but that is some great customer service.

Actually it was awesome, but I kinda high jacked the thread. I had taken my meds before I logged in and read the post. I do apoligize, but it is a true story. I have always had outstanding service with TC. The barrel still shoots fine but I was gun shy about shooting it. I have not had pleasant experiences with loud explosions especially that close to my head.

ronlaughlin 08-01-2012 10:50 AM

No way is your post a hijack. It is very very relevant to my issues. Who knows, i may follow your example. I actually owe you a thank you for such an informative post.

Had you written about the weather in New Mexico, or insisted i not call CVA bullet CVA bullet,

i would consider that a hijack. Had you written i needed a hug, or that i was just Ron being Ron, i would have been insulted, as well as this thread been hijacked. It is only natural i am Ron being Ron; i am Ron, what/who else could i be?

No sir, you did not hijack this thread nor did you deflect the conversation.

Thank you for your post.

vendor - CVA blackpowder guns - equipment.

It really saddens me to see the path some folks are taking just to start an argument. Something is going on in the dakotas and making some act nuts.

ronlaughlin 08-01-2012 12:14 PM

Now that was an elegant hijack/deflection.

Slow Burn 08-01-2012 03:18 PM

Ron,
I normally just hang out and read the post; however, I didn't want yall to think I was deflecting the post.

Mike
