That's not a toy . A toy is what you would shoot him with.

Not too awful bad MD. But check out this whitetail that will put that muley to shame. He showed up on my trail cam this past week. What amazes me is how he can get though the acres and acres of this thick stuff with that head gear!

Not to worry SS. I know MD was only trying to rile me... And this guy has got at least another month to grow! It's just too bad that you can't shoot antlered deer during PA's early ML season. I guess I will just have to try to get him with stick and string. Maybe when he is 'looking for love'.

Yeah, but they get to shoot a dozen. I'll take that any day over our one stinky mule deer.

Dozens? Not here in PA. In the majority of the state you can shoot 3 maybe 4. But only one buck. Personally though I will rarely shoot a doe unless my freezer is really low or during the late primitive ML season. The PA Game Commission has allotted so many anterless tags and the greedy meat hunters couldn't see the writing on the wall when they would shoot 3, 4 or more deer every year just to say they did. Now these same hunters complain they aren't seeing any deer. Well no $hit. You need deer to make more deer?
Believe me Muley I would gladly like to see it like it used to be (at least for a while) when, like your area, you could only shoot one deer a year - period. If you shot a doe the first day of archery you were done for the enitre year.

Bronko,
Here in TN we have very liberal bag limits. I only take what I use; however, I will occasionally harvest a couple animals to donate to families that are in need. I honestly would be able to just enjoy hunting even if I didn’t kill an animal. We do have plenty of game to hunt here in TN and the insurance companies would blow a gasket if the TWRA would place greater restrictions on the bag limits. I am a Soldier by trade; however, I am a Fisheries and Wildlife Manager and will work on federal lands once I retire from the military next month. I have been through PA and always thought that the amount of deer that I had seen there was extremely abundant. I was in WV this past weekend filming for a new Christian Outdoor TV show and I noticed a declining population since I had been through that area about 15 years ago. Blue tongue and CWD have been a contributing factor in areas that have a heavy population density of ruminants. I do agree that all too often many hunters will kill just to have bragging rights and that is wrong. I enjoy hunting and being out in nature.

V/R
Mike

It was a bit of a joke, but I know some guys do brag about taking about 10 deer a year. I think it was a southern state.
