Default I Miss The Old Gun Shows

Just got back from a gun show. Forty-six thousand square feet of black guns, AK's, military rifles, and handguns.

I could have bought all of the Chinese and Russian rifle scopes I wanted. And all of the 1,000 round cases of .223 ammo or 600 round cases of 7.62 that I wanted. Plus gun safes, cartridges in any caliber, high capacity magazines, nun chucks, cheap knives, Samaria swords, jewelry, honey, jerky, SWAT gear, and T-shirts.

What I couldn't buy was Pryodex, Triple Seven, 209 primers, XTP's, sabots, percussion caps, wads, iron sights, reloading supplies of any type, or anything else that might interest a muzzleloader shooter.

I miss the old shows. The ones with gun parts and boxes of new and used parts to paw through - sights and triggers and trigger guards and hammers and barrels and a whole lot of other stuff. I miss the tables of powder and bullets and primers and caps.

I'm glad I had to drive only six miles to get there, but doubt I'll be going to another one in the near future.

Almost exactly what I have here at "The Nation's Gun Show." All the NC Star scopes you could want. Lots of gear for the tactical wanna-be. One, maybe two booths with MLs.

Ours are usually titled as 'military gun show' or gun show.

.
jewelry is one reason i don't take jess to gun shows with me. And she tries to talk me into guns I really did not want at the time. come 6months later I end up buying it. guess she knew bests. lol

been luck with the ones I have gone to, 3 to 4 booths of muzzleloaders and some with muzzleloader door prizes.

Your right about all the black guns and such. There is a show in Charlotte today but I doubt I will go.The last one I went to did have a good variety of hunting guns there. It seems Henry and Ruger are the big sellers at these shows. I did get a good price on my Glock 23 6 months ago at a show. Maybe the hunting shows are the better ones for blackpowder these days

Semie, you said it perfect. My last gun show I went to a few months back was huge, but all you had were "black" guns as I call them. I asked the guy,who has been going to this show for years and I have visited him yearly say, black sells. In todays day stores need money to survive and every one ia buying the black guns.

There was maybe one or two booths with muzzle loaders guns and or supplies and they wanted twice the price it was worth.

What I would like to see is a BP/muzzleloader show
The National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association has regular meets that include powder vendors. At least the south western meet here in Phoenix has a powder vendor.

http://www.nmlra.org/

Check through the various tabs to see if they have something of interest for you:

If powder is your thing I would call ahead of time to see if there will be a powder vendor on site. As an FYI the powder vendor here has a minimum purchase amount. I do not remember the exact amount maybe 5 cans or so.

Good luck.
