Default Went for a ride today - Hunters DREAM!

And holy crap did we run into bucks and bulls! I have never seen so many animals in this area in 15 years. We saw a total of 24 deer and 10 elk " 8 bulls - cow and a calf" One bull was a beauty. In truth, ALL bulls were legal shooters. My new glasses have turn me into a game spotting machine! I saw 2 brown spots at around 12,000 feet and paid no mind to it, getting ready to leave i asked my brother, what in the heck are those spots? Got the binos and sure enough! 2 bucks in velvet feeding and then laying down for the evening. I will get some HD videos of the deer and elk later and post them.

Just an awesome day in the truck and hiking. The mine shaft we took pictures of im not sure how old it is, but the MAIN shaft crumbled in years ago as well as 2 other shafts. The engine is an old flathead 6 heavy duty gas motor that pumped water out. The shaft today still is leaking water.

And my baby, Rocky.

Heres a blurry pic of the big bull, he was pretty far for my camera but the HD Video cam got him nicely.

Truck and Rocky at the top of Trinchera Peak.

Beautiful country! That looks like a great place to wander around. It looks like your dog has slimmed down a bit. Sounds like you found a great honey hole. I wonder who else might know about that?

i dont think its a honey hole, it was just pure luck we saw the animals that we did. Rocky has "slimmed" down from 106 to 86lbs but hes still a chunk.

One hell of an idea to hike, its all up the mountain and thick brush, beautiful areas i never saw before soooo i MAY try here next year possibly.

Wow! Very nice bulls and video. That one is a really nice bull. And the other two would be in trouble if they stepped out in front of me. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like you're going to need a bigger gun.
