Leupold scope

This may be in the wrong place but i thought i would get more replies.

A guy i know wants to sell his leupold vx-1 2-7x33 shotgun/ muzzleloader scope with a heavy duplex for $150.. just wondering if this is a good deal or is it too expensive. Its going to go on a remington 700ml.

Thanks.

That scope is $210 new at OpticsPlanet.com, with free shipping. It has good reviews there. Sounds like you would be getting a pretty good deal if the scope is in good shape.

VX-I or VX-1?

The VX-1 is updated quite a bit and is equal to the old VX-II.

Right around $210 new.

The_Hunter323 07-02-2012 01:34 PM

ok thanks muley ...do you think i should get it?

Muley Hunter 07-02-2012 01:46 PM

I can't answer that for you.

I've owned the VX-I, VX-1, and VX-2. I thought the Weaver K4 new at $145 had better glass.

The_Hunter323 07-02-2012 02:23 PM

ok well thanks anyway muley

You could get a konus pro, they were given rave reviews by some and even compared to Leupolds!!!

Seriously, Leupolds are just average until you get to the upper models. Like you have.

the konus do look pretty nice

He wasn't serious. Just another jab at me.

Why not look at the Weaver K4 4x38? It's all you need for a ML. Nice and light, and glass is from ***an. ??..Can't say Ja-pan?

Even Leupold gets their glass from Asia.

The Leupold Riflemans are a joke. I'd rather have a Simmons. There is no way I'd pay $150 for one. The most I'd pay is $100 for one in nice shape. I've bought several VX-I's for under $150 with some searching.

I sold a VX-1 for $140. I bought it new, and it went to the range once. Not even any ring marks.

Deals can be found. Especially from me. :(

Give the Vortex riflescopes a look. I think you will be impressed!!

Theres a lot of truth in that statement. i scope and sight in a few dozen muzzleloader rifles every year. IMO: Simmons muzzleloader scopes are equal to or better than the Leupold Rifleman.

i think im going to get the cabelas powderhorn for only 49$

I have a 6 or 7 year old shotgun/muzzleloader heavy duplex on my mk85. Back then I really don't think it had a vx1 or vx2 designation. It is in my opinion the best muzzleloading scope out there. I bought it for around 249 from a company in Pa that is no longer in business or has changed their web site. My scope has great optics and is solidly built. I would believe the new ones are as good.If it were me I would go new from optic planets.

I have 2. You won't be disappointed.

trigger45 07-04-2012 06:55 AM

weaver thumbs up. k4 is a awsome scope. but the leupold rifleman 2-7x33 got me back into varibles.

rafsob 07-04-2012 06:20 PM

I have heard that same old BS about the Rifleman scope. I have one for quite a few years now and it has served me well.

And while we are at it, compare a Leupold and Simmons? Are you crazy. :fighting0007: Please can we say apples and oranges here???

They don't come more reliable or reputable then a Leupold!
