Default Take a Break

This morning whilst searching for a new load for the old X7, i had to quit shooting for a spell. Two critter wandered right into the shooting lane as i was reloading. Photo only show one, so don't bruise an eyeball looking for the other. There were chicks in the vicinity too. One of the chick oh so barely escaped the truck.

I had that happen on my range with a deer once. I was just setting up for a shot and noticed a deer standing down range behind the target.

I was at a Cowboy Action Shoot (CAS) a few years ago and up the hill behind our staged range were a half dozen deer looking down at us while we were shooting the stage. Sometimes deer are very complex creators. Almost like women!!!

Years ago I had a ground hog walk out onto a public rangeat about 30 yards. It was a weekday morning so I was the only one on the range at the time.

I have heard from good authority that a Hornady Great Plains 385 with 100 grains of Pyrodex Select will cut a ground hog clean in two!

At least 3 times I would be getting restless while hunting. I would pick a spot about 20 to 100 yards away and aim at it. While I was seeing how steady I could get the crosshairs a deer would walk right into them. Somehow it always seemed like a gift from above.

Funny how that happens. And it happens more often then you think.

Yep. Last November I was shooting the .45 Sinful Sister on the bench. Had already shot a dozen times when a silly rabbit decided to munch grass on the range 75 yards out. I fried her up that night.
