I think it's just fine sbuff.
Hornady loads the 300 grain XTP Mag in their 454 Casull ammo, which is the cartridge the bullet is intended for. Their web site shows a muzzle velocity for that ammo of 1650 fps from a 7.5" barrel revolver. Here are the velocities I get from the short barrel of my Omega X7 with Triple Seven FFF.
Five Shot Averages - Chrono 12 feet from muzzle
75 grains = 1642 fps
85 grains = 1749 fps
95 grains = 1817 fps
105 grains = 1875 fps
115 grains = 1915 fps
With that 95 grain load (which is what I usually use) velocity at 200 yards from the X7 is about the same as the .454 Casull load at 100 yards. And the Casull is touted as being an excellent 100 yard handgun cartridge for deer.

Semi, nice to see you have data saved.Thats one thing I need to start. I don't know why I thought it needed to be pushed past 2000fps to expand properly. I guess its a mix if the mag or non mag is better for deer.We can both agree both will work !!!
Funny thing is the .452 300gr non mag shoot a little better group on my X7 then the 452 300gr deep curls do but I use the DC for hunting instead.
For the 17bucks or so for 50 bullets you can't beat it.
