The other day after shooting at them Cheez-It boxes, i got to wondering if i could capture them bullet. This morning i set out to capture the 200g SST at 300yard.
A 45 caliber Omega loaded with 111g BH209, Harvester sabot, and W209 primer was used to launch the 200g SST.
The Trap

IMPACT

0.33 seconds after impact

The Aftermath

The photo show the jacket separated from the core, but they both penetrated the milk jugs, and were found in the phone book one stacked on the other. It seems they may have come apart as they left the last water jug. The total weight of these 2 parts is 137.5g.

Nice test! I've had similar results on game and in test media with the 200 SST/Shockwave - very good penetration but sometimes with jacket separation and a decent amount of bullet weight loss. Personally, it doesn't bother me much because every deer that I've shot with these has gone down fast.
