Wink 2nd outing with my CVA

So here are the result of the second outing with my CVA Optima. This time using BlackHorn 209 Powder, CCI 209 Magnum primers and the CVA loose powder breech plug.
First three. Center bull. were at 25 yds with 85gr of powder and Powerbelt 245gr Hollowpoints. As you can see 1inch group.
Second 4 at 100 yds. Target was the upper right, aiming at the 2oclock bull. Same pwdr load and bullet. Not too... impressive.
Third group was @ 100yds upper left bull with 90gr of powder and Powerbelt 295 hollows. Much more satisfactory.
I was shooting off a rest so you can see the scope needs to come a bit to the right.
First impressions of the BH209 powder is good. Measuring it out is a bit of a chore but the ease of cleaning and no.... let me repeat.... no crud ring outweighs measuring out a dozen or so tubes for the range.
Oh yeah... Blackhorn makes some awesome tubes to keep your premeasured powder in.

Very good shooting there in the groups. The more you play with the powder and your rifle, the better it gets. You finally seem to find a perfect load and then its just a great shooter. Glad to see you got out and shot. Good report by the way. What kind of scope do you use?

scope.... hmmm.... that has been going thru my brain since this last outing... THe scope is the Konus Pro that came with the CVA... my wife bought the combo deal... and its a decent scope for the price but there is NOT ENOUGH eye relief for me... the scope slams my sunglasses when I fire it off... in the specs its only listed at 3". Ive got a Bushnell Trophy on my Savage and I really like it especially with 5" of eye relief... so I'm thinking of getting another..

That looks mighty fine Alex. You've got yourself a shooter.
