Default Couple new muzzies

First off, I wanted to say, this darn forum wouldnt load for close to 2 weeks! I don't know what the heck the deal was.

Heres a real odd ball i picked up the day before yesterday "14th"

Prarie River Arms Bullpup .50cal 1:48 twist, 28 1/2" barrel, 11oz trigger pull, walnut stock. Just one heck of an odd looking muzzleloader, but one heck of an accurate one! Weighs 8lbs 11oz with the 4x scope on it. I wanted to get it a little cheaper but it was on consignment at the shop and we couldn't get a hold of him and so i said, screw, threw the card on the table and i took her home.

It was very nerve racking to put my face directly on the powder/bullet charge, but after 4 or 5 shots, i settled down and started getting it on paper. No targets yet, i ran out of powder before i could do a 3 shot group. That ALWAYS friggin happens!

Now sit down!

The other muzzy i ordered is the new Traditions Vortek Ultralight .50cal with the 30" barrel. I just really wanted to see how well they've improved over the years and so I was able to get a discount to help me out on it. Got an email and they are processing the order and will have the total price along with tracking number once its ready to ship. So hopefully this one will be a good shooter. I really like the looks of it and plan on shooting a great deal of Thors through it.

We'll see how this one goes and after i try open sights first i will scope it.

One thing for sure Devil, carrying that bullpup you won't be bumping into another hunter in the woods carrying the same gun as you.

That's a really neat looking rifle. But I don't think I could get used to resting my cheek over the powder and bullet. also,I'm sure you know that I love my Traditions Pursuit. I hope you will be pleased with your Vortek.

I'm gonna have to disagree with ya on that one pluckit. I do believe thats the UGLIEST G** D*** muzzleloader I've ever seen!! I would also be nervous about resting my cheek on it for fear of catching something! But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...or is it beauty is just a light switch away??? Any way, good luck with it MD54. I hope it turns out to be a great shooter for ya. At least that would make it easier to be seen in public with!...LOL..

Well that rifle is different. But if its a good shooter.. what the heck. I think you will like that Vortex. I have read some real good things about them.

I agree, that's one fugly looking MLer! But the Vortec with the 30" barrel may be a good long range shooter. I like a longer barrel as Im 6'6" and a longer barrel just fits better for me.
As for the Forum Page Loading, yes it's taking a LONG time, it almost took me 5 minutes to reply to this....but Im also having trouble on my Mustang Forum and on Facebook, seems like it all started about 2 or so weeks ago.

breechplug, try clearing your cache/history and then defragment your hard drive"s". I think i had a bug in mine that was preventing me from being able to connect to the website server. Once i did that, i was back in business.

Personally, I kinda want one of those. Looks like it would be a lot of fun. It's ugly in a nice sort of way.
