Default ugh, may put my knight usak back into retirement

i had an 209 plunger for my knight usak. bought the breech plug, bought the FPJ (new packaging). the jackets are larger then the plunger. WTH, are the new FPJ larger then the old ones?

I have two ideas to make them first.
1: modify the plunger to fit around the jackets
2: modify the jackets to fit into the plunger.

something I will play with. i am going to order an nipple from TOW, I gotta order some anyway from an cva hawken that needs an short nipple to line up right.

I never changed out a #11 caps breech plug for a 209 primer plug. First I never saw the advantage as I don't normally shoot pellets. Also the #11 is a fine ignition system with loose powder, leaves less crud rings, and it was designed for the rifle.

Was your USA originally a #11 cap. If so I would go back to what it was and see how it shoots for you then.

If I'm reading you right I think you bought the wrong breach plug...

One of my hunting buddies has a USA Knight that we converted years ago, it doesn't use the red plastic jackets...The 209 goes into the breach plug...

My brother has a Knight Bighorn I belive, it uses the red jackets and the plunger and breach plug are different...

the red primers holders are just an touch larger the plunger. I can see where they are hitting. with out pulling out my caliper, i am going to say any where from .05" to .1" larger.

I have the breech plug packaging in my hands. it is for the gun. it may be the plunger.

oh well, I picked up two spit fire nipples at an local gun shop. see if I can keep from loosing them

Corey .1" is fairly big. I think you mean .010". My conversion kit uses the red primer jackets. I got mine for the same reason. The cap kept coming off the nipple. You know you can file down the nipple a bit so the cap fits on tighter. Not much mind you.

your right I did hit the wrong button

the primer jackets are .010 to .015 larger

I did not have an problem with the caps coming off, I am having problems losing the nipples themself.

bought two spit fire nipples local for $3.99 each. wish they had 6x1 nipples. ordered some at $8.99.
