Default T/C omega/norwest edition

Anyone know much about these with the 1/48 twist. I am helping my son and another friend pick out new rifles for hunting and saw these. The Washington state compliant ones are 1/48 twist. I like the look and action of the rifle, but am leery of the mid-range twist, as I have always felt like 1/48 was a compromise. I would like to hear from anyone that has shot this rifle, or knows anything about it. I have an old renegade that has same twist in .54, and am happy with it, but it is not near as accurate as my A&H which is 1/28. I may end up steering them to the knight bighorn which is back out now.

What say you all. Happy day to everyone.

I can only tell you that the 1 in 48 inch twist is an all around twist. If you have never shot any sabots out of a 1 in 48 inch twist barrel you should give it a try. See what happens and then give the 1 in 48 inch twist some more thought. If you would like to see what mine will do with sabots check this thread out. The last three targets were shot using sabots and a 1 in 48 inch twist barrel.

Well the PRB shoots well in mine but the sabot with 200 and 230 gr bullets was a shock as I did not expect a 2 inch group so was the FPB they also shot better than PRB especally at 150 Yds.

If you are a Washington hunter the NorWest certainly complies with the ruls but golly there are such better rifles out there, unless you might be thinking about shooting round balls.

I believe the Big Horn would be a far better choice than the NW Edition, but even batter than that would be a Knight DISC Extreme with a Western bolt and breech plug installed.

Might look at these threads on the Hunt Washington forum...
