Nice truck. I always loved the 55-56 Ford pickups.

Whatcha got for a motor?

waaaaaagh! Pulled the exhaust, intake and head today.

Broken intake valve spring! Coulda fixed that without pulling the derned head!

No biggy, im taking the head to the shop monday for him to inspect the valves/seats just to make sure everything is okay.

Took a look at the engine block " upper end" and its great! Lifters look great as well.

Glad to hear that it's not anything to major.

Now that's pretty batchief. I'd bet you don't take that thing down any logging roads. What do you call it? Mellow Yellow? Tweety Bird? The Audacious Banana?

batchief909 03-17-2012 10:20 AM

I call her "Chiquita"....and no dirt or wet roads. The 454 is a bruiser on gas.... Thanks, Semi...

Glad it wasn't anything terribly serious because I wasn't hugging you.:s8::s8:

MountainDevil54 03-17-2012 05:42 PM

hey i felt like crying when she went down! I love that truck. Being able to take a look inside the motor really made me feel good knowing that with 190k on her, she still looks like new on the inside and no sludge build up. Took the head in today as well. See how long it takes for him to do a valve job and install new springs.

Those are really some nice trucks there lonewolf and batchief. You can see that a lot of love and care goes into keep those trucks in that kind of shape.

MD glad to hear that the truck is not in too bad of shape. As for the hug.. you're on your own for that one.
