Default Jug @ 1/4 Mile

This morning i satisfied a yearning i had for a while now. First tried to blast the jug using the PowderHorn scope, but missed 3 times. After switching rifles, the jug developed a leak.

VIDEO

The actual range was 452 yard. The rifle used was the Omega 45 caliber with the 2-7 VX-2 scope. The load was 200g SST, 115g BH, Harvester sabot, W209 primer. The ballistic program say this load need to be 19.79" high at 100 yard. The top dial on the scope was turned one complete revolution and then more for 19.75 moa increase in elevation.







One thing that caught my attention was the program say the bullet will be nearly 3' above line of sight at 250 yard.

Thats a great shot with any rifle or Muzzleloader in my opinion.

Excellent shooting from that 1:28 twist rifle. sure would be nice if hornady made 225-230 gr SST for long range hunting, don't yah think?

That was alright Ron. You could barely see the puff of smoke and then the jug explode.

It is the reflection off the windshield that makes it so difficult to see the smoke. I wish i would cover the windshield with a coat or some such thing before the shoot.
