Default step in the right direction

Not sure if anyone here followed this, but this is a huge step in the right direction for long gun owners in Canada.

Muzzleloaders are included (expect flintlocks) in the same class as centerfire, rim and shoot guns.

That's great johonnyo. Canadian gun owners should call the day that bill is signed into law 'Increased Freedom Day' and have celebratory group shooting sessions on that day every year.

I'm sure all of your friends on this forum who live a "criminalized way of life" share in your joy.

The vote (to eliminate long gun registration) represents an historic turning point, Public Safety Minister Vic Toews said. "Unfortunately, Liberals and some New Democrats have attempted to turn a whole way of life into some kind of criminal conduct," he said. "That's really what the long-gun registry is about . . . criminalizing a way of life."

It's been a very long fight for Canadian gun owners: But, alas, the witch will soon be gone.
