I believe the 240gr XTP's that come in the TC 30 Pack are .430, they call the Sabots (Mags) Im not sure why and someone correct me if Im wrong on this.
I use nothing but the ones that come in the 30 Pack from TC out of all my CVA MLers, they shoot great, give me 1"groups at 100yds and I've taken many many deer with them and never lost one.

the 44-240 XTP is not a mag... If you are looking for a mag look at the nose of the bullet and the copper jacket will roll over the nose and down into the HP. Hornady does not list a 44-240 XTP Mag.
the 45-240 XTP is a mag...
You can look here for XTP's on the Hornady web site.
The pictures on the web sight do not help as the use the same picture for a regular XTP as the XTP mag. The picture is very close to a regular XTP.

I have killed deer with all 3 weights and all 3 versions of the 300g. The most accurate I have found of them all is the .430 300g. I DO like the .452 300g MAG but some folks do not like them because they don't believe they open up well enough on whitetails. All of my shots are quite close-95% are less than 50yards so I have not had any trouble with the MAG opening up and it's wonderful for taking out shoulders.
I have no reservations hunting with any of them, but if I was forced to choose just one, it would be the .430 300g. My $0.02 if you wanted it not.

I really can not tell from that picture. but as already stated if you are shooting a black MMP sabot with the steps in the cup you are shooting a 45 cal bullet. And according the the web site if it is a 240 it is a Mag, if it were a 250 grain it would be a regular XTP.

I agree, all of this can be confusing for a person. It would be nice to see the manufacturers put more info on the bullet packages.
Like lonewolf5348, I have been told the bullets in the T/C XTP 30 packs are the .452 240gr. Hornady and the black sabot is the MMP 24. These have worked great for me in the past for deer hunting and target shooting.
I have also used the Hornady .430 240gr and the green MMP sabots. These shoot great out of my T/C muzzleloaders as well.

I guess I use the .452/.45 cal XTP Mag. It comes in the TC 30 pack with what I assume is the Black MMP HPH-24 Sabots as they have the (Stair Steps) in the sabots cup.
So then the TC 30 packs of TC XTP's are sypplied with the Mag XTP's.
Thank's for the info Pluckit
