Lightbulb A Unique Sabot & Bullet Preparation Method

Here's a video by someone that practices a unique method of preparing his sabots and bullets for long range shooting.
As John Maddan would say, "Now this is what muzzle loading is all about!!!!"

Wow! He looks like he's shooting at the moon. I don't know how he can even see the target. It's pretty interesting. He's done his homework that's for sure.

A very interesting video. It seems that there is always a different way to get the best results.

What he does there certainly is nice shooting. However is all that special attention really necessary. The reason i ask is because of my own experience shooting a jug at 371 yard, maybe half the size of his target. No special pains did i take. Just loaded and shot. Also, i think he would get better results using 300g bullet.

Now i will have to shoot further, just to see.

I agree. The more I think about it, just about any one who knows their rifle could accomplish that with just a little practice. Once you know where that bullet is going to be at 420 yds I think you could do what he does without all that extra attention. Quite frankly if your dialed in, then a 2 sq. ft. target should'nt be that difficult too hit, especially in his situation. He has the advantage of holding on a position well over the target because he has a hill behind it with bushes and such he could use as a hold point. Have him hold on a blue sky in flatland country and I think his results wouldn't be so impressive.

You never actually see the bullet strike the target just hear a metal clang I see more dirt kick up than reaction of the target in my mind not saying he's not hitting it but you never see a close up of the target if he is hitting it then I would give hit a good job but like said before if you know your gun and load like most of us do then you should be able to hit a 2ft square target at that distance

The elevation he is holding on that rifle reminds me of my youth. I had a Daisy spring powered air rifle that I carried with me all summer when I was around 8-10 yrs old. That old air rifle was so worn out but I knew its trajectory like the back of my hand and I would routinely take out targets (mostly starlings) out to 50 yds with it. I miss those days. No cares, no worries, just pure fun.

If he's so concerned with oil/lube from the wad contaminating his set-up, why doesn't he just use dry wads???...BPS
