Not enough info. Is his wife hot, and was she wearing a thong when the shot was made?

As they say " even a blind squirrel, gets a nut" At that distance it is possible that a hail mary paid off but, that is exactly what it would be. Your front sight would be as large as the animal, and would be pure luck, IMO

Not a shot, i would ever take. without optics, it would be unethical.

Personally I know of someone that swear they made such a shot. Now I was not there to witness it. He did have a deer. And he is by all standards an excellent shot. Whether his wife was wearing a thong I can not say.

But to answer your question there really is not enough information. What kind of rifle? Is this person a BS'er? Is he a good shot? Or is he usually pretty lucky? But to make it interesting.. I will GUESS... fact.

What is the most wild shot you ever made on a game animal with any kind of weapon?

Exactly, not enough Info, what was the Gun, a Rifle or a MLer? Anthings Possible and everyone gets LUCKY every now and then.
Now if you post a pic of a Deer that you say weighs way more than the deer in the pic looks like it should weigh then we at least have somethign to comment on.
