Default ...& the range report

After cleaning the 32 year old packing grease, thank you Cayugad, I went to the range...

Loaded w/ 75 gr 777 ffg & PRB & from a knee against a tree I shot as per photo- on paper but well right @30 yds so I drifted both front & rear sights until 5 & 6 got me centered.
Next I was low; rear sight adj brought 7 & 8, last adj was 9.
Patches, 1 in photo, looked pretty good w/ no tearing.

So, I am now maxed out on rear sight elev but am unsure if I should shoot for a bit before filing the front blade down; any input welcomed.

I will say this, the trigger action is more what I wish the TC Hawken was but, probably because I'm not accustomed to it, just does not feel right. The rifle balances well for sure and next session will be at least some off-hand.
Feels odd to be puting the first shots down an old barrel...

I would try the rifle at other distances and see how much you drop. Also get a bench rest of some type and really let the rifle do what it can do best. Although that's good shooting for off a knee.

Also you have to examine .. where do I hold the top of the front sight in the V of the back sight. Are you level to the top.. or down in the valley. Try it both ways and see what happens.
