I shoot mainly 3 powders. BH, 777 and Goex. I can't say that I prefer one over the other because they're all used for different applications. They all have pros and cons.

All my inlines shoot BH but theres just something that worries me about the hole for proper ignition issue. When that big buck walks out the last thing i want to worry about is breechplug design- carbon build up- hot primer- tight seal with sabot etc.... So I'll stick with 777 or Pryodex RS.

I have used Goex 2f and 3f and prefer 3f because of it's versatility. You can use it in your pistols and rifles, any of them. I like Black Horn but have really only played with it. I find Pyrodex to be a little finicky with cap locks and only use the pellets in one rifle. I haven't played with Triple 7 enough to make any determinations on it yet and have only tried the pellets. I really need to get some in loose powder and give it a try. It seems to have a lot of followers. I tried Jim Shockey's Gold but wasn't impressed with accuracy although fowling was reduced a bit. I have never tried Swiss. But if I had to only use one powder in all of my rifles that powder would have to be Goex fffg.

went to T7 when it came out... tried Pyrodex again last year doing some velocity testing... Pyrodex isn't as fast or nearly consistent shot-to-shot. T7 (usually in 3F form) is the only way to go for me.

I buy good inlines and use Blackhorn in them since it came out with out a problem.
I use GOEX in some guns I like Swiss better but find it very difficult to come by.
I use Pyrodex in my Traditional Hawken and Renegade rifles tried every thing available and for these guns I like it best, I use it in my pistols also.
What a person uses is a personal choice and is often dictated by circumstances.

Haven't used my flint or cap gun, in years. When I did , I used Goex and would still use , if i decided to shoot them.

All my inlines shoot BH reliably and have never had a FTF so, i wouldn't change.

I don't think its whats better but more like Whats available in your area. I shoot mainly Pyrodex RS now in my sidelocks as goex is to far of a drive for only one can.

+1 for Swiss 3F

I use Goex FFF...I have 2 flinters so I have to have it anyway...I have used Pyrodex and 777 in my Knight, the Pyrodex was OK but no better than Goex...I'll never use 777 again, the crud ring was awful...

I don't see what's the big deal some make over cleaning, how hard can it be to plug the touch hole and pour water down the barrel???

I also like knowing I'm using the powder with the lowest ignition temp, this gives you good ignition every shot...
