I think i would go with the x7 mainly for the little shorter barrel and the laminate stock. In my opinion TC needs to stop the endorement models and go back to what works and the x7 was a dream of a MLer. love the fluted receiver and tapered barrel, I think it cut it down to about 6lbs. or a little more. Oh And it was in true Stainless not wheathersheild like the newer ones. The whole energy burners to me are a joke, waht really helps with felt recoil is the sims pad and that comes on the x7 as well. Did i mention the great looking laminate stock

Yea I really love the stock on the x7. I know it's an older discontinued model but is there anything on this gun like the BP that is an older style? Hopefully I could make that power rod work with it also.

The BP works good with all powders, new and old.

That's a good price for a excellent muzzle loader.the original X7 with it's lam stock and SS barrel was a fantastic rifle.IMHO all that rubber crap muzzy company's are outfitting there rifles with are junk.the limb saver pads absorb all the energy needed.i would lean towards the original X7, if you can find one in good condition.
