My son dropped one in it's tracks at 90 yards using 70gr fffg behind a 250gr bullet last Saturday.
My normal hunting load is 80gr fffg behind a 250gr bullet. |
I would use 150gr pellets and a PB :)

Say what? I don't understand the question. Sort of like trying to dig half a hole!
I would say in a .45 or .50 cal, 70 gr of FFFg would be my minimum load to use for deer. Probably could use less but humanly I would not go lighter. |
I use 2 50gr Pyrodex pellets. Can't vote though cause you don't have 100gr as a option....
|
Why jump from 70 grains to 120 grains? It just so happens most of the loads in my seven guns (.45 to .58 caliber) fall into the 85 to 105 grain range.

100gr equivalent of black mag 3 and a 260 gr nosler will drop em every time when I put the shot in the correct place. I would not attempt a 50 grain though. The poll needs 100gr for a choice.

my Knight rifle cant shoot over a full load which is 100 grains of powder so i put a half a load which is 50 grains of powder but most people put in between half a load and a full load.

50 gr is too light for hunting. What are you hunting?
