I would buy another TC Pro Hunter or an Endeavor. Shoots great, haven't had any problems to date, good CS from what I have seen so far and made in the USA.

Sabot Loader you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

Sometimes there are some people you simply can not help. Personally I would like to thank you for the help you gave me. After I did what you said my problem vanished, so again thanks.

However some peope you simply can not help. And you only dig a deeper hole. Those are the people that you should just put the shovel down.

If you remember a week or so back I made a simple comment. And that comment rings true. Some customers you will never satisfy, and you are best to just give them back their money and send them on their merry way. In hopes that they never buy your product again. I have seen it too many times in this industry. Just let the squeeky wheel roll some where else. Some people you simply can not help. Tom.

Here is the problem Tom you dont have a clue what is going on and I am not the only one who is having problems with Knights lack of service I even called there so called gun smith and asked him about the breech plug with the brazed in vent liner and he had no clue what I was talking about didnt even no what a vent liner was our anything about bare 209 breech plugs..........So who is the sqeeky wheel now

HEAD0001 11-19-2011 04:54 PM

No the problem is you b***h and complain constantly. It is fine to post your criticisms. We all do that. But you do it in a spiteful hating manner that is over the top. And you are doing it constantly. Anyone on here can tell you are going to post something negative because you simply post alot of negative things.

Cheer up and look at the bright side a bit. Life can't be that bad??

Start seeing the glass half full instead of half empty. And people will surely help you out a good bit more.

I have had a few problems as well(with Knight). But instead of crying like a baby I took the time and contacted the correct people. And had my problems solved.

If you are going to constantly b***h about everything then why would anyone go out of their way to help you?? Just think about it. Tom.

Myself, i have 2 Knights with the nfpj breech plug. Would you like some information from me? I've never received anything free from Knight. I've never gotten any help from Sabotloader with my Knights. More than once i have mentioned not so complementary things about my Knight products. Never once have i been flamed. Oops, i was too flamed; by a CVA shill. Isn't that interesting? I was flamed for making negative comments about my Knight products by a CVA shill. My Knight breech plugs work just fine, now. My Elite is a reliable, well built, accurate, well balanced, good feeling rifle.

I am sick of being told lies by people that receive free products. I remember who they are. In my world a man's word is a man's word.

Just so you know, i have used a mallet to beat the bolt of my extreme open. Anybody that would use a mallet to beat a bolt closed is an idiot. I have wrestled with my Knight some, but i also have been able to cure any issues myself. The breech plug in my Knight extreme required some fixing by myself. The breech plugs in my Accura(s) required modification to be reliable with BH.

There is a fella that pushed Knight products. He hasn't been writing on this forum as of late. He is a bully. His tactics can be detrimental to the success of Knight' return to the market. However, one thing i haven't ever noticed from him, is a lie. Also, he has helped some fellow forum members, with their problems with Knight.

I have been curious for some time now, if CVA knows about them simpletons that are pushing their product. They have pissed just about everybody on these forum off to the point where the last rifle in the world they would purchase is a CVA. Myself, i own 3 Accura. They are a reliable straight shooting rifle. What a hunter desires when he hunts, is a straight shooting reliable rifle. I'll not lie about how good their trigger is. I'll not lie about how reliable they are igniting BH. In my world a man's word, is a man's word.

You not read how many times i called and got the run around why should the customer have to take the time to find out who the correct people are? Your right though I'll chalk this up as a 600.00 headache and go down the road I am sure you would do the same thing as well wouldnt you?

hahaa the funny part is, i was slammed every which way by the TC guys who've now turned into knight guys, who now apparently have their nose close in knights customer service complaint calls.

Its funny really. I can shoot all kinds of guns and they still whine and moan. I have even thought about going back to traditional AGAIN just to show that it doesn't matter much to me what i shoot.

Well im feeling left out..... :D

Oh lets all just drop it guys. I honestly miss the old days when we all used to have fun and enjoy each other.

Im done giving others grief, even when just wanting to poke fun. I had a lot more enjoyment when we weren't trying to scratch out each others eyes. What others want to do, go right ahead. Myself, im not going to get worked up anymore, tired of it and tired of seeing others in need of help not receiving it.

I get tired of it too.

Ya the post is getting a little out of hand!!! I do want to thank all of you who responded to my question. It is very helpful, I will be using my old Knight Revolution this year. it has been a pretty good gun, & I have taken a few deer with it. I would also like to say this: and I know times change but, when I did have a problem with my Knight Revolution I got the best customer service I could have asked for, They were Great!! as I said Times change, (and this is awhile back)
but I like to give credit where credit is due, (I won't be purchasing one of those "HIGH Buck" units) can they be that much better?????
Thanks again, Doc

I sure hope this rings true. More than a few people need this approach.

Doc, you are correct the Knight company trying to rebuild itself is not up the the standards set by the old company in its peak, but I truly believe it wants to get that point and if everything goes well I am sure it will be.

I can not tell you what you should buy, I can suggest to you that new Knights are good. If you prefer the Mountaineer it will offer you a Green Mountain Barrel with a very clean shooting breech area and a fully adjustable trigger. And let me one of the first to suggest that the new DISC Extreme is not slouch either - it is an excellent gun.

If you are looking for a break open or block action and you have the time to wait - Knight may offer you some new options early next year.

Standby very good guns... I still think the Omega was one of the more solid guns that TC ever offered and the new Triumph is probably one of the most accurate guns made - right out of the box.

Good luck hunting and good luck picking and choosing your new gun when you get to that point.

nchawkeye 11-20-2011 09:11 AM

I'd like another Knight Disc, mine has the 22 inch barrel, I'd like a 24...I'd also like one without the Monte Carlo stock...I prefer the original Disc over the Extreme...I also like the design as it's easy to remove the disc...

I also like the bolt design as it also means you get a nice adjustable trigger, kinda hard to have this with the break open designs...

Guess I'll just keep the Knight, all I need...

MountainDevil54 11-20-2011 09:14 AM

A great deal of the break opens ( ok mainly the Optima- Accura V2 & Apex) don't even need an adjustable trigger. No BS guys, both of my Optima's break at between 26 - 28oz with no grit. My brothers V2 Breaks at 1.5lbs. I can't imagine wanting anything lighter than that on a factory trigger. Dry graphite makes them feel even better, i use a dab of it on the breech plugs as well, if you could blow hard enough they'd screw it LOL.

Oops! I have to disagree. My Optima came out of the box with a 2 1/2lb trigger with no creep or over travel.

My trigger scale gave up the ghost, so I had the gun shop check it. He wouldn't believe it wasn't a custom trigger. :D

ronlaughlin 11-20-2011 11:23 AM

The first Accura i brought home was purchased because i wanted to try a break action rifle. The Triumph is what i really wanted, but it just doesn't fit my face. The trigger on my Accura had a little creep. It wasn't much, but it was there. The Accura is now about worn out. The trigger is better than new, but it still has a slight amount of creep, however it does break with little force.

Then when the V2 was released, i looked at the breech plug, and decided i had to see what it would take to make it reliable when loaded with BH209. The V2 has a decent trigger with a slight amount of creep.

Bein's how the Accura seemed to be about worn out, i decided to get another to replace it. The new Accura also has a nice trigger. The trigger on this new rifle has a slight amount of creep.

MountainDevil54 11-20-2011 11:36 AM

How did you wear it out with so little shooting? I put over 3,000 rounds through mine without any wear or issue.

After reading your post I went tried my trigger to make sure. No creep. :confused0024:

Also a quote from the review I posted on this forum. (along with others)

"The trigger pull on the Accura V2 was 2 ½ lbs out-of-the-box, very crisp with no creep. CVA is to be commended for not installing a “lawyer’s trigger” on their rifle. With a target rifles’ trigger pull, it was easy to shoot for accurate groups on the range."

If it couldn't be set a bit firmer. (i'm sure it could) I'd buy an Accura. It's the same trigger, but adjustable.

Yer Optima is worth about 2/3 Accura. Yer Optima has no creep. My 3 Accura all have creep.

Final result is 2 1/3 CVA rifle with creepy trigger. So............it is settled.

I had no idea, my life was fraught with bad luck.

Tires, clutches, batteries, and such things wear out on my truck. Is that unusual?

Jeans, shoes, socks, and gloves i wear, do wear. Is that unusual?

Breech plugs in my rifles suffer flash hole erosion. Is that unusual?

The jargon of texting, and such things is not familiar to me. Does LOL mean laugh of loser?

MountainDevil54 11-20-2011 07:46 PM

Hey don't feel bad, my bad luck is with electronics. I've gone through 6 cdroms in 3 years with this computer. 3 power supplies and blew up 2 computers prior to this system now. Luck is not with me in the computer department LOL.

I remember him, but not what he said. I can hardly remember what I said.

Boonechaser 11-21-2011 04:34 PM

Just received my Mountaineer today and to be honest, i am not really impressed. I knew I should have tried to find one locally to shoulder and check out first. But, i fell into the hype once again. I dont think it is worth the price compared to some of the cheaper TC products. I didn't realize how much of a break action guy i am, till today. I like my Omega better.
Don't get me wrong it is a nice ML and seems put together well but even with the bare primer deal it is a pain to put a primer in. i havent shot it yet but did try to put a primer in to see how it works. it would be impossible with gloves, even thin gloves.
So, if you are looking for a Mountaineer keep an eye open in the classifieds you may find a slightly used one before long. If the range does not change my mind, it will be sooner than later.

Myself, i cannot install a primer in any of my rifle with gloves on. This includes the Omega, and also the break action rifles.

I must admit, the Mountaineer on sale is lookin' mighty attractive. Just this morning wife asked if i had ordered it yet. Makes me think she thinks i think, it is pretty enough; it may be soon delivered to the front porch.
