Default Opening Day

Well sat morning is the opening day of Arkansas's 3 week gun season. Reckon I will hunt in zone 4 this weekend. Its a muzzleloader and shotgun hunt only in this zone and its only a 2 day season. This is the area where I got the pic of a really nice buck, hadnt seen him or got another pic of him, but maybe he will be out looking for some ladies. The wife and daughter are headed up in the hills where they can use there rifles. Maybe this will be a good season. Does anyone elses season open this weekend?

I know what you mean. Our season is three months long. But that first weekend is exciting and I don't usually pass on the first mature doe that shows herself. Bucks are different. Anything less than a 7 or 8 pointer gets a free pass.

Usually the week before Christmas. The Department of Wildlife & Fisheries is predicting an earlier rut this year. But they've been wrong before.

Were nearing the peak here, my better half went bowhunting this morning and saw 7 different bucks chasing. She about had a jerking spell lol. She shot got one shot at a buck and missed it. Hopefully they will be running around crazy this weekend for her and my daughter.

Bucks are cruising and chasing here now in PA. Don't know if any doe are standing yet. Good luck to those of you heading out this weekend.
Shoot straight.

Missouri's starts tomorrow. We have 2 weeks of getting bucks then another 2 weeks for anterless and then a 2 week muzzy hunt. Where I hunt we have unlimited doe tags so we can shoot as many as we can for 7 dollars a tag. We usually shoot more and donate all of them to share the harvest program where we hunt. I use my muzzys all season long. Good Luck to all.
