Default Beautiful day for a walk

First day of PA's early ML season. What a gorgeous day. A bit windy but that just aided still hunting cause everything was moving around. The wind and the leaves wet from rain the past 2 days allowed for quiet movement. I took me 3 hours to cover about 1 1/2 mile circle traversing old strip mine roads. I didn't see any deer but did manage to sneak in to approx 60 yds of 2 turkey until they saw my required blaze orange vest and hat. No matter, cause if they were in season, I'm sure one would have come out of the woods with me. At least part of him cause I have no way of knowing what kind of damage a .54 PRB would have done.

It just seems like it is always a great day when you spend it in the woods... I am hoping to get out a couple of days next week myself.

40 mph winds all day today. I saw one Buck and 6 Doe this morning with my Bow. I'm sitting up against a tree right now with my Mountaineer over looking a bean field. I might just stick a primer in before dark.

The wind is strong here as well but at least it is cool outside. I took a ATV ride through my woods this morning and checked some different trails. Funny part is, where I set up my ground blind.. it's like every deer vanished. I didn't see any real fresh sign.

Then this afternoon I got the snow blower out and tuned that up and put the mowers away for the winter. Got to be prepared...

Bronk22000, what time did you see the Turkeys? Just curious early or late?

Grouse, I would guess it was around 1130.
