This might surprise some, but I set up over a buck scrape once, and just because a friend claimed to urinate in buck scrapes, and for laughs.. urinated in it. I climbed in the tree and later that afternoon a small eight pointer came in and he had a fit over what I did. He pawed it all up and re-freshened it. Then he died.

I've read articles where guys have actually watch buck sniff where the hunter had taken a leak and started making a scrape there. I think deer just get nervous from our BO.

Deer are smarter here. They know a tree shouldn't smell like a raccoon.

one morning i climbed into my ladder stand years ago in the dark only to put my hands in racoon poo. i think i had enough cover scent that day.

You tree squirrels have more problems than I thought.

The worse I can do is step on raccoon poop.

muley, how does a coon get up a tree without leaving his scent. Flying coons?
