Default Used Knight Disc for Oregon??

I have a original Knight Disc xtreme and live in Oregon...I want to convert over to shoot #11 caps. What breech plug do I order? I've seen other posts of it being used with the stock bolt and it still leaves the cap exposed...Thank you Matt

The Knight Disc used to have #11 primer jackets you could purchase, put a cap on and they worked the same as the 209 primer. I am not sure there is a #11 conversion for the Disc rifle.

Well... you can approach it in two methods...

1. You can order the Knight Western Kit - think it is $53 and have everything you need...

This is the old kit... the new kit comes with a better bolt...

This is the new bolt and kit...

I did send the bottom picture to the Oregon officials for approval for use in Oregon. From the picture they approved but would like to see one in the field.

The other thing that is possible is to call Knight and get a breech plug built for a 52 caliber Big Horn - it is a 11/16 x 18 plug that will fit your DISC. Problem it will be just a bit to long and will need to have some metal taken off the nose of the BP.

Then you might be able to order a replacement breeck plug - for the Knight Western Kit - that has been modified. This is going to be a little harder to do as this is a very rare order... If you can get Robin on the phone she may remember the process to get the correct plug... It will work with you current bolt but the fit capper is or can be snug. If you use a brass #11 capper such as a Ted Cash inline capper it will work fine.

I would suggest you use #11 Magnum caps.

It is the disc xtreme..The bolt looks identical to the 2011 conversion! Do I just need the new breech plug?

Your bolt has a lip at the end of the hood for extracting the red plastic jacket... the 2011 conversion bolt is minus that lip.

This picture shows the lip on the bolt... on a Western Bolt the lip is gone and the opening is a bit larger. The lip can get in the way of some cappers...

I am pretty sure - but not positive - if you order the Big Horn 52 cal cap breech plug.. it will be a few thousandths to long to work in the DISC.

If you can get them to mail you a Western Kit Breech plug - you may get away with just that even with the lip on the current bolt.
