I just purchased the Lehigh conversion for my Knight LRH to be able to shoot BH-209 powder in my rifle. So far(only shot once) I really like the setup. It worked perfectly.
Now I am reading other threads where guys are talking about drilling out their flash holes. And not drilling out their flash holes. And getting thousands of shots with zero wear. And shooting a couple dozen shots with .003 of wear.
So which is it?? There is information all over the map on this in different posts. Now I realize we tend to ignore the more unrealistic posts about shooting thousands with no wear. But what is the real truth??
I know my LRH will not get shot alot. It is strictly a hunting(fixed position) rifle. And my new FL will be getting all the range time, and most of the hunting time. I was just wondering about my new breech plug. Tom.

Tom your Lehigh conversion already has all those modifications.
Shoot away....
Then i should also say that I do not have one of the new Knight purchased conversions, all of mine a pre-Knight. I also know that the conversion in the 45 has 500+ shots and when you clean it after shooting - you would be hard pressed to say it was used...
Actually if you have one of the new ones - you should go out and shoot around 300 rounds and see if the flash does erode beyond .032 if it does... need to send it to Lehigh Dave for evaluation - I am sure he would like to know and see.

The shots were counted by saving the spent primer. I have since replaced the brazed in vent liner with one of my home made vent liners, and am now into a shot count on it. The results will be shared with the forum.
Bear in mind my shots were taken in the 45 using 120g of BH, and this was done in the heat of summer, and sometimes i don't allow the rifle to cool very long.
