That is pretty much correct. I have/had what Knight called the "Crossfire" breach plug in my Original and it has basically no flash channel.
This style was supposed to ignite pellets better.   Coreys BP appears to be even earlier than mine. Ive never seen one like that. IIRC they did offer a #11 adapter that somehow fit in the Orange DISCs. Its mentioned in my manual. It has been my experience that the flame channel is a buffer that reduces pressure on the primer. Looking at this breech plug leads me to guess it would have some blow back, because of the pressure on the primer. Is this your experience? . |
