Default T/C vs Lyman

I am asking this for my Father in Law

In the Flint Lock Rifle which is a better gun I noticed the price is about half for the Lyman.

If I needed a flintlock.. it would be a Lyman. If I wanted to shoot roundball it would be a Lyman Great Plains. If I wanted to shoot a lot of different projectiles, it would be a Lyman Trade Rifle. I have Lyman and T/C and would much rather shoot my Lyman rifle then a T/C although the T/C Flintlock is a good shooting rifle, but when you compare the price, the Lyman is a better deal.

Cayugad said all that needs to be said. For a round ball fan a .54 Great Plains is mighty hard to beat.

I sold two T/C Renegades and bought two Lyman DeerStalkers.

My .54 GP flinter seems to like 3F over 2F, but the difference is so small that it may be my imagination. I haven't really done a side-by-side serious comparison of the two.
