Ive wanted to get either a 45cal SML barrel for a custom SML build or get one of the super rare ULA 45s. I tried to get the ONLY ULA 45 i know about but the owner wont sell even at current MSRP. I cant say i blame him, i wouldn't sell my 50cal either.
I found this yesterday for a very affordable price. Just the barrel is over $400 and Pacnor has a 14 week wait or more if you order now.
If all goes well she will arrive next week.
Savage MLII SS, bedded OEM stock with a Pacnor 45cal 27" SS heavy barrel aka DD spec.
She wont win any beauty contests but she does shoot.

I don't believe it's your last one. I believe you think you want it to be your last one for now. I believe it will be your last one until you buy your next one.
Good luck with it. I want a .45 barrel for the Pro Hunter and I've been thinking about an SMI in case I ever decide to go smokeless. I had a Savage for a short while, but that rifle and I got off to a bad start and never really could get past that. Looking back I really probably should have kept it and gone with a Pac Nor. Oh well. Have fun with it.

If I had a nickel for every time I said I was done buying rifles.. heck I'd have enough to... get another rifle.
Very nice looking. What kind of load can you push through that and what kind of accuracy distance are we talking?
