Default Me again

A jerk has owed me $275.00 for over two years and came over this morning and gave me a new in the box Lyman Mustang to settle the debt. I know that they sell for a lot more so I am satisfied with the deal. This is the first one I have ever seen and feel that it is the best looking in-line I have ever seen. Synthetic stocks and camouflaged guns turn me off. I am a basically a side lock man and am not into in-lines. It came with Weaver style scope bases and I think I might mount a scope to use it during the shotgun season, can't use scopes during the muzzle loading season here. Do any of you own one of them and what loads do you use. Kind of funny that I have obtained two new Lyman rifles in four days. I really don't need either gun but there is always room in my cabinet for another smoke pole.

I have one WCW and share your opinion that it's the best looking inline around. I really like the hammerless design, sliding tang safety, top lever break open and excellent recoil pad. Plus, they're built like a tank and shoulder great for me.

The only thing I don't like is the trigger pull. Mine was long, stiff and gritty. Even after working it over twice I couldn't get it into the "good" range.

Mine is no tack driving target gun. But it gives me honest 2.5" 5-shot groups at 100 yards with 110 grains of Triple Seven under the 300 grain Speer Deep Curl or Hornady XTP in Harvester H5045SB sabots. My chronographed velocity of that load is always around 1750 fps.

Speaking of deals, my local shop has a used Knight disc rifle for $275. I'm not much into inlines either but if anyone would be interested, I cud pick it up for them and mail it out for the postage.
